Junior Eurovision Song Constest 2018

LIGHT UP IN MINSK – WEB APP FOR THE JUNIOR EUROVISION SONG CONTEST 2018

Commissioned by the exclusive EBU partner digame mobile GmbH, the Peak Performance Apps GmbH developed the central online voting solution for the European Broadcast Union and the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018. The viewers were offered the opportunity to vote for their favourite artist per Web App.

“LIGHT UP” with the official Web App for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest

The web-based voting system, which was developed by the Peak Performance Apps GmbH commissioned by the digame mobile GmbH, served as central online voting tool for the 16th Junior Eurovision Song Contest. As easy and comfortable as never before, viewers could cast a vote for their favourite artist out of 20 competitors. On the 25th November 2018, the Polish singer Roksana Wegiel and her song “Anyone I Want To Be” emerged as winner of the final contest with 215 points.

The voting that led to Wegiel’s victory already started on Friday, the 23th November 2018, at 8:00 pm via the exclusively designed Junior Eurovision Song Contest web app of the Peak Performance Apps GmbH. Within this long-time voting as well as in the following short-time voting phase during the final, more than 1.200.000 valid votes were generated through the high-performance web-based application within this short Voting Phase. Comprehensive security and the stability of the platform were guaranteed during the entirety of the voting phase.

A great success for all involved parties on which future co-operations between the European Broadcast Union and the enterprises of the Twister Media Group will build upon.

 

Performance during peak load as key competence

High-performing systems for real-time processing of peak loads during mass events are central key performance indicators of the Peak Performance Apps GmbH. The capability of the official web app for the 16th Junior Eurovision Song Contest was proven impressively. For upcoming events and shows, a further growth of the peak load is therefor expected in the future.
